The Conestoga girls soccer team didn’t have many opportunities in Tuesday’s PIAA Class 4A girls soccer semifinal against North Allegheny, but as they have proved on more than one occasion this season, they don’t need many. The Pioneers scored twice off corner kicks in the second half and the defense authored another clean sheet en route to a 2-0 victory over the Tigers at Chambersburg High School. The girls’ varsity soccer team was victorious on Thursday, beating Harriton 6-1. Conestoga started strong with senior Chloe Brown and junior Keira Kemmerley scoring two goals respectively in the first half. Following halftime, Brown scored two more goals, completing a hat trick. As season openers go, the Conestoga girls soccer lid lifter on a warm, breezy Wednesday afternoon couldn’t have been scripted any better. They dominated play nearly the entire 80 minutes, created plenty of chances and shots and had most of their roster see minutes as they received goals from five different players in a convincing 5-0 nonleague victory over Great Valley at Teamer Field. TEYSA/FC Europa Night at Conestoga High School will be held the evening of Thursday, September 7 during the CHS girls soccer games. The JV game starts at 5:30 pm and the Varsity game starts at 7:00 pm. Kids who wear their TEYSA or FC Europa jersey get free admission to the games!
